NEXTON is a VPN service: an Android app, this website and our servers. Its purpose is to protect your connection, so we collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we store, why, and for how long.
To use NEXTON you need an account, created in the app or on this website.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your e-mail address | Log in, send you verification and password-reset codes, answer support requests |
| Your password, stored only as a one-way hash (we can't read it) | Log in |
| If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID and e-mail address (nothing else from Google) | Log in with Google |
| Your plan, its end date and the state of your free trial | Decide whether you can connect |
| When the account was created and when you last logged in | Security and support |
| Your purchases: date, amount, PayPal order number and the e-mail of the PayPal account that paid; vouchers you redeemed | Give you the time you paid for, handle refunds, keep accounting records |
For each day (UTC) we store how much data your account sent and received through our servers, and how long you were connected. Only the totals: not where the data went. We use this to run the free trial (100 MB or 5 minutes), to show you your usage on this website, and to plan server capacity.
To keep the service working, the app sends a small encrypted status message about once a minute while the VPN is on, and once when you disconnect:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| A random install ID created on your phone, and your account if you are logged in | Count active installs and connection time; end a connection when a plan or trial runs out |
| Connected / disconnected, and which of our servers you use | See server load and fix broken servers |
| Network type (Wi-Fi or mobile) and mobile operator name | Find which servers work on which networks |
| Country of the VPN server you are connected through | Show it in the app and check server locations |
| App version | Know when it is safe to retire old versions |
The app also downloads the server list from us, and looks up the country of the VPN exit address (through the VPN) at ipwho.is or ipapi.co so it can show the flag on screen.
When you log in here, your browser keeps a login token in its local storage until you log out. We don't use cookies. The site loads its font from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address like any web request. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google's sign-in script runs on the login page.
We do not sell or share your data. These providers process it only on our behalf:
NEXTON is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them.
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For important changes we also tell you by e-mail or in the app.
